Dr Amanda Britton

Amanda qualified from Guy’s Hospital London in 1983. After her pre-registration house jobs she completed the Wessex Vocational Training Scheme for General Practice in Poole in 1987. Following her husband’s career to London, she spent 2 years as a Community Paediatrician in Lambeth Health Authority before undertaking her first full-time GP partnership in Streatham Hill. During this time she also developed her skills within community family planning services becoming an instructing doctor.

In 1996 the family relocated to Surrey where she has continued in General Practice, experiencing both partnerships and freelance self-employed work, allowing flexibility in her work commitment with the needs of her growing four children. During this time she worked as a Clinical Assistant on the local breast unit. Currently, she works part time in a NHS post in Ashford where she provides NHS general medical services including family planning, menopause, child health and has a special interest in diabetes undertaking clinical lead for the partnership.
