A one-visit prostate pathway

You can have the PSA blood test done here on the day, then the right MRI arranged based on the result. Reported by a consultant radiologist.

Which MRI is right?

  • Biparametric MRI, where PSA is below the raised threshold for your age
  • Multiparametric MRI, where PSA is raised for your age
  • Age thresholds: 40, 49 above 2.5 · 50, 59 above 3.5 · 60, 69 above 4.5 · 70, 79 above 6.5

If the scan is reassuring

You are told plainly. If it needs onward action, we arrange it, often to the NHS 28-day pathway, with your images sent for free.
