National Provider. Locally Delivered.
First 48 to 72 hours
- Rest, ice and elevate the knee
- Some soreness and mild swelling is common
- Simple painkillers, paracetamol or ibuprofen if suitable, are usually all that is needed
- Do not drive home on the day of your injection
The first two weeks
Gentle daily activity is fine: desk work, short walks, and driving after a couple of days. Avoid strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, running and long periods standing, to give the hydrogel time to settle.
Weeks two to six
Back to normal activities. Benefit builds across these weeks rather than arriving all at once, so judge it over the period, not the first few days.
When to contact us
If pain or swelling gets worse rather than settling, or you feel unwell in yourself, contact us or your consultant. Anything that worries you is worth a call, and we would always rather hear from you early.
