The future of heart health assessment

Heart disease remains the leading cause of death worldwide, yet many heart attacks occur in people who had no prior warning. Traditional risk assessments based on cholesterol, blood pressure and family history can miss individuals who are silently at risk.

At Prime Health Surrey (Weybridge) and Prime Health Brighton, we now offer access to groundbreaking cardiac imaging technology that can identify your risk of a cardiac event years before it might occur.

Cardiac CT Coronary Angiography with Caristo CaRi-Heart

Our cardiac CT service combines state-of-the-art CT coronary angiography (CTCA) with Caristo CaRi-Heart, an innovative AI-powered analysis platform developed at the University of Oxford. This technology represents a significant advance in how we can assess and predict cardiac risk.

What makes CaRi-Heart different

Traditional cardiac imaging identifies narrowed arteries and established plaques. However, research has shown that coronary inflammation is a crucial factor in heart attack risk, and many fatal cardiac events occur in patients whose arteries show no significant narrowing.

CaRi-Heart analyses your CTCA images using advanced artificial intelligence to detect and quantify coronary artery inflammation, the otherwise invisible process that drives many heart attacks. The technology provides a personalised cardiac risk score that predicts your likelihood of a cardiac event up to eight years in advance.

Clinically validated technology

CaRi-Heart has been validated in major clinical studies, including the ORFAN registry published in The Lancet, the largest study of its kind analysing cardiac CT imaging outcomes. The results demonstrated that CaRi-Heart can accurately predict cardiac events and identify high-risk patients who would otherwise be classified as low risk by conventional assessment.
