MSK Health Check

The MSK self-referral pathway at Prime Health Stockport is open to anyone with a joint, tendon, back or soft-tissue problem that has not settled with rest and time. You do not need a GP letter. Everything is consultant-led from the moment you book.

What we scan

• Knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, wrist and elbow
• Lumbar, thoracic and cervical spine (back and neck)
• Tendon injuries, Achilles, rotator cuff, patellar, hamstring, and more
• Any acute or persistent MSK problem, sporting or otherwise

How it works

You book directly with us, you tell us the area that’s bothering you, and we scan it. A consultant radiologist reports the scan, and if the finding calls for treatment, we arrange it here, physiotherapy, an ultrasound-guided injection, or an onward specialist referral. If the scan is reassuring we tell you plainly and you leave with an answer.

What happens after the scan

You get the report and, where the finding warrants it, a follow-up conversation with a consultant. If treatment is needed, we can arrange it, physiotherapy on site, an ultrasound-guided injection by a consultant radiologist, or an onward referral to a surgeon. If the scan is reassuring, we tell you plainly.
