How to pay for your care

There are three ways to be seen at Prime Health. If you are not sure which applies to you, call us on 0330 025 2100 and we will talk it through.

Self-pay

The simplest way to be seen quickly. You pay for your scan or appointment directly, no insurer, and for an MRI or ultrasound, no referral. Prices are shown on every scan and service page, so you always know the cost before you commit, and you pay securely at the time of booking. For most people it is the fastest route to an answer.

Private medical insurance (PMI)

If you have private medical insurance, we can usually invoice your insurer directly. You will normally need two things first: pre-authorisation from your insurer, they give you an authorisation code, and, for an insured claim, a referral from your own registered GP rather than ours. Have your membership number and authorisation to hand when you book, and we will take care of the rest.

NHS

Prime Health is a private service, so care here is self-pay or insured rather than free on the NHS. Choosing to be seen privately does not affect your NHS care in any way, and it can be a way to get an answer sooner. With your consent, we send your consultant report to your own GP so it becomes part of your record, and where onward NHS treatment is the right next step, we help arrange the referral.

Not sure which is right for you? Call us on 0330 025 2100 and we will help you work it out before you book.
