Dr Mashkur Khan

Dr Khan is an experienced General Physician who has been a substantive Consultant at Epsom & St Helier’s University Hospitals NHS Trust since 2002. He is also an Honorary Senior Lectuer, University of London specialising in multi-system pathology and multi-system disease. He is an expert in acute assessment and stabilisation ofcomplex medical patients. He has had extensive training in general medicine and its sub-specialties. He particularly has a special interest in syncope due to various causes and he has lectured extensively about the different causes of loss of consciousness and blackouts. He is also an expert in Parkinson’s disease and its variants. He takes a particular interest in mobility disorder, including falls and balance problems. He also has a particular interest in memory loss and he is the Trust Lead for dementia care. He is always assessing reversible causes of memory loss and how we can strengthen our cognition.

He is the Royal College of Physicians Tutor and examines for the MRCP clinical examination both nationally and intemationally. He is also the Programme Director for Internal Medicine training. He is a member of the Movement Disorder Society, USA. He is Ex-Section President of the Royal Society of Medicine and currently sits on the Section Council. He has experience in Peri-Operative Medicine and works closely with the multi-professional team. He always has a clinical focus and his strength lies in clinical assessments and diagnostic dilemmas and where the diagnosis and assessment is complex. He has recently done research on a Covid vaccine.

He currently has practicing privileges at Prime Health. He is keen to see patients of all age groups at short notice. He has particular expertise in acute medicine and diseases common in the ageing population.
