What can an MRI scan diagnose?
MRI uses a strong magnetic field rather than radiation, which makes it particularly useful for soft-tissue detail:
- Joints, ligaments and tendons, knees, shoulders, hips, ankles, elbows, wrists.
- The spine and discs, including sciatica and radiculopathy work-up.
- The brain and cranial nerves.
- The abdomen and pelvis, including liver, kidneys, prostate and pelvic organs.
- Sports injuries where you want to know exactly what is going on before starting rehab.

What happens on the day
You arrive at Horizon Business Park, park for free directly outside and check in at reception. Our team completes the safety questionnaire (implants, previous surgery, pacemaker, and so on) and shows you to a private changing area. The scan itself typically takes 20 to 40 minutes depending on the area, during which you lie still on the scanner bed while the radiographer takes the images from the control room. You can bring someone with you for most scans.
A consultant radiologist reports the images within a short turnaround. Where the finding warrants urgent action, we contact you and your referring clinician promptly.
From diagnosis to treatment, in one place
Because Weybridge has physiotherapy, sports medicine and consultant clinics on site, the pathway from scan to treatment is often short. A knee scan that shows a repairable meniscal tear can be booked into a knee surgeon's clinic in the same building. A rotator-cuff tear can be planned with a physiotherapist who saw the same images. A finding that would benefit from an ultrasound-guided injection can be arranged with the consultant radiologist here.

Is there parking at your Surrey MRI centre?
Yes, free parking is on site, directly outside the front door. Blue-badge parking is also available with dedicated bays close to the entrance. This is one of the reasons many patients choose our Weybridge centre over central London.
What kind of scanner do you use at Weybridge?
The Surrey centre runs a 3T Siemens MRI scanner, the same field strength we use at our London (Harley Street) and Manchester (Stockport) centres. 3T gives high image quality across musculoskeletal, neurological and body imaging.
Do I need a referral for an MRI in Surrey?
No, MRI does not use ionising radiation, so it does not need to be requested by an entitled referrer by law. Many of our Surrey patients self-refer. If you would prefer to see a private GP first, we have a GP service on the same site.

How early can I be scanned in the morning?
We open at 7am on weekdays, earlier than most private centres in Surrey, so you can be scanned before work. Saturday hours are 8am to 7:30pm.
Who reports the scan?
A consultant radiologist reports every scan. Reports are returned efficiently and, with your consent, shared with your referring clinician and your own GP so your onward care is joined up.
Can you do physiotherapy or a guided injection on the same visit if needed?
Yes. Weybridge is our most complete centre, private GP, physiotherapy, sports medicine and consultant clinics are all on site. Where a scan finds something an injection or a course of physio would help, we can often arrange the next step at the same centre and planned by clinicians who have seen the same images.
How do I find the centre by satnav?
Enter KT13 0RU and select Byfleet as the town. The postcode for the centre itself does not always route correctly, and this is the most common reason our patients arrive late. We are on Horizon Business Park, less than five minutes from the M25 Junction 11.
Do you take insurance?
Yes. Bring your policy number and pre-authorisation and we bill the insurer directly. Anything outside your policy remains payable by you.
