What ultrasound is good for
Musculoskeletal (shoulders, knees, tendons and small joints), abdominal and pelvic organs, thyroid and neck, testicular and vascular imaging. Because there is no radiation, ultrasound can be repeated safely.
What happens on the day
Arrive, park on site, and the scan itself typically takes 15 to 30 minutes. A consultant radiologist reports within a short turnaround. Reports reach your referrer and, with your consent, your own GP.
